Embajada

San Juan

Embajada was founded in October 2015 with the intention of spotlighting Puerto Rican artists within an international contemporary art dialogue. Embajada, located in San Juan, is the combination of an independent self- funded project space and a commercial gallery, inspired by the idea to exist as a diplomatic mission, to create a political context through the use of aesthetic information and driven by the collaborative spirit. Over the past five years, Embajada has mounted over 35 exhibitions, participated in numerous international contemporary art fairs, and represents seven artists of Puerto Rican and Mexican descent. Embajada has launched careers of some of the most important Caribbean voices working today and has had the honor of placing works in major collections including The Whitney Museum, Guggenheim, PAMM, KADIST, MSU Broad, among many others. The gallery is curating a group exhibition at CAM St Louis this fall 2022.
